The e-Performance deadline is approaching; don't miss the opportunity for a meaningful conversation!

As the end of 2014-2015 performance cycle is fast approaching, all staff and managers are reminded to participate in the performance management process. Log into inspira and complete your e-Performance today!

The work of each staff member is an important contribution to the broader goals of the UN. This end of cycle discussion enables us to reflect upon our achievements and have a meaningful face to face dialogue. It is an opportunity for staff and managers to enable professional development, and career growth.

As a staff member or manager you should be well-prepared for the discussion and allocate uninterrupted time for the conversation. The conversation is the basis for the next performance cycle. An effective manager is not too busy for a performance dialogue!

As a staff member you should:

  1. Log into inspira and review your goals
  2. Complete your self-assessment
  3. Submit it to your manager in inspira

The self-assessment is your opportunity to highlight work-related achievements and any development activities you have completed.

As a manager you should:

  1. Review the goals assigned to your staff
  2. Make a list of achievements and any areas for development. Feedback should be given in a manner that will best help improve performance. Feedback is most effective when concrete examples are used: it is particularly powerful to reinforce what the employee did right and identify what needs to be done in the future. Feedback works best when it relates to a specific goal.
  3. Invite your supervisee to a meaningful face to face meeting
  4. At the meeting recognize the good work done and if needed highlight any areas of development.
  5. Ask about learning and development aspirations and offer support.
  6. After the meeting log into inspira and submit your evaluation to the Second Reporting Officer

You should aim to complete all conversations by the end of April and record them in inspira no later than June 2015. Log in today!
