On 22 October 2022, the Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH) piloted The UN Amazing Race, a scavenger hunt within the confines and the immediate vicinity of New York City’s iconic Central Park. This was an initiative by the Public Health Team in DHMOSH to encourage UN personnel in New York City to adopt walking as a fun way of doing physical activity that leads to overall health.

63 personnel from different UN entities, departments, and divisions grouped into 13 teams raced around the 6.5 hectare expanse of greenery right at the heart of Manhattan, finding many of its well-known attractions, as well as some overlooked ones, solving clues and completing challenges while learning history. There were a total of 45 tasks spread across 11 areas. Whichever team completes the most within the allotted 2.5 hours wins.
