The AFICS office in Geneva holds open hours for staff seeking individual consultation on a range of retirement-related issues. Contact aafi-afics@unog.ch for more information.

Please note that individual entitlements are dependent on one’s contractual status, duty station, duration of service and category. Staff should contact their human resources focal points about specific situations and entitlements.

HOW DO I JOIN AFICS/NY?

AFICS membership is voluntary. To join, complete the application form and send it to the address specified in the form.

AFICS-NY QUARTERLY BULLETIN

  • A quarterly publication with lists of new members and articles on the UN pension, health insurance, the UN Credit Union, advocacy efforts and more
  • Publishes UN System activities
  • Is eagerly anticipated by members worldwide

STAYING CONNECTED

There are multiple ways to keep in touch with members such as:

  • Social events, luncheons, receptions, etc.
  • Panels and seminars
  • Participation in one or more of the Standing Committees
  • Communicating and sharing experiences and views through the AFICS-NY Bulletin

BACKGROUND / HISTORY OF AFICS

  • AFICS was established at UN Headquarters on 17 September 1970 with strong support from UN Secretary-General U Thant and subsequent Secretaries-General.
  • There were only a handful of members when it began, and now the organization has nearly 3,500 members in the USA and 100 countries worldwide.
