The Information and Awareness Session on Novel Coronavirus, held at UNHQ on 4 February, is now available on demand from the UN Web TV website.
Everyone working for the UN has a responsibility to help create and protect the right work culture. One of civility and respect. One in which we address workplace issues constructively. One in which we address instances of discrimination, harassment (including sexual harassment) and abuse of authority.

What is staff engagement?
Staff engagement is the emotional commitment that a staff member has to an organization and its goals. More generally, engagement is two-way: it occurs when the organization values the employee and when the employee values an organization.
The Office of Human Resources (OHR) in the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance recently concluded a pilot multi-rater feedback programme towards strengthening performance management and accountability at the Under-Secretary-General and Assistant Secretary-General levels. It was conducted between December 2018 and March 2019.
The updates to the HR Handbook as at 3 May 2019 have been posted at https://hr.un.org/handbook/source. Below is a list of the changes for your reference:

Agile performance management is an approach to managing employee performance and development.
It is collaborative, involving regular conversations and continuous feedback.
The new approach offers flexibility in many ways. Feedback, such as comments and competency ratings, can be exchanged among all levels of staff, not just through the traditional route where a supervisor gives feedback to a direct report.
