Travelling electronically to work

For over a decade, the United Nations Secretariat has been offering different options for Flexible Working Arrangements (FWAs) as part of its efforts to support better work life balance for staff. With advances in technology and more familiarity with the four different flexible working options available, the number of staff taking advantage of flexible working arrangements in 2015 rose by 30% as compared to 2014.

A reminder to all of us – our Regulations and Rules

For an international civil servant, it is not enough to deliver the expected programmatic results. We must also embody the highest standards of efficiency, competence and integrity in our daily work and in representing the United Nations.

The Charter of the UN, together with the Staff Regulations and Rules and administrative issuances serve as the Organization’s legislative framework, defining obligations of management and staff.

2016 Spring Registration for Language Courses now open

Happy spring!  The new season comes with new learning opportunities. Register now to learn a language and/or develop your writing or speaking skills.

You can register now for United Nations language & communication skills courses that will take place from 18 April to 15 July 2016.  For many courses, registration closes on 7 April - so don't delay!

You may register via inspira.un.org from any computer with Internet access.
