Family Focal Points and Call Center Volunteers

This course covers the role, responsibilities, and practical operational issues relating to family focal points in mass casualties, activation and logistics. Participants develop inter-personal skills required in volunteer roles (LMS-1695).

Audience: 
Staff who in the event of an emergency, is willing to provide one-on-one support to families of staff who perished and to staff who are injured while in service.
Objectives: 
Understand the role and responsibilities, scope and parameters, of the Family Focal Points in mass casualty incidents; Know the skills and attributes that need to be developed to succeed in these roles; Understand the principles of self- awareness, and how to exercise self-care; Become familiar with the practical and logistical activities of mass casualty operations; Be aware of the importance of establishing boundaries; Know how to access the resources and support you may need.
