MEDICAL CLEARANCES & SICK LEAVE- UNHQ
You are ‘cleared’ as medically fit for the work you will do before you join the UN and at other times during your service depending on your health, the role you perform, and the location you serve in. Medical clearances are used only to ensure you are employed in a safe and appropriate manner. The UN Medical Services collects medical information from you and any relevant health practitioners and uses this to make an assessment of your fitness. None of that information is communicated to other areas of the UN. The UN Medical Services simply issues a statement of “fit” or “not fit.” Your confidential medical information remains confidential.
