Ebola Virus Disease (EVD)
Ebola virus disease (also known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that periodically causes outbreaks in several African countries. People can get EVD through direct contact with an infected animal (bat or nonhuman primate) or the blood and bodily fluids of a sick or dead person infected with Ebola virus.
