UN Language Framework
March is the International Francophonie Month. To celebrate the French language and multilingualism, the French section of the UNHQ Language and Communications Programme would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in a creative writing contest about some of the main areas of focus of the UN and of la Francophonie.

The six UNHQ language programmes create courses for all staff to promote and sustain multilingualism, to enhance professional communication skills and to raise multicultural awareness in the official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. We also offer different levels of services and support for learning managers in charge of language learning in UN offices and duty stations worldwide.
The Language and Communications Training Unit at UNHQ – head teachers, teachers and administrators – serves the language learning needs of approximately 3000 staff and diplomats at UNHQ each term. Further, the growing web-based courses are created to meet language learning needs of all UN Secretariat staff at large.
Speaking and writing the six official UN languages promotes multilingualism and adds to your competence in our diverse workplace. Courses can help you to develop proficiency in listening, speaking, writing, presentation, and work communication skills in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.
