Designed for staff and managers who are not necessarily Budget specialists but may be involved or interested in various areas of budgeting, as well as all staff who wish to deepen their knowledge of the United Nations Budget system in general
Objectives: 
The course provides an overall view on the objectives and guidance on the use of important resources such as the Finance Manual and iSeek. The context and concepts show the elements of accountability by explaining results-based budgeting/RBM and reporting and the importance of Delegation of Authority. An important part is the high level budget process, the core funding type of the UN and the budget cycle with explanation on the roles played by different parties. The course clarifies the differences in the budgeting process between the Regular Budget and Peacekeeping. Trust funds and extra-budgetary resources are explained, focusing on key players and the governance structure and the key roles and responsibilities involved in budget and finance.
