Performance Management 2016-17 – What have we learned?

As we know, UN staff’s work should be reflected through and guided by the performance management cycle – captured in the ePerformance tool in inspira. This is an important part of the Secretary-General’s vision for a more effective and accountable organization.

The most recent cycle (2016-17) ended on 31 March 2017.  We are very pleased to report that 90% of staff in the global Secretariat completed their documents by the extended deadline of 31 July 2017.

It’s November: Have you had a mid-point performance discussion?

The Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) in the Department of Management reminds all managers and staff that mid-point performance discussions for the 2017-18 cycle should be held before 30 November.

The performance cycle consists of a work plan – developed in April/May each year, ongoing feedback between managers and staff, a mid-point review discussion in October/November and an end-of-cycle appraisal in May/June, as depicted in the image above.
