ASSESSMENT
The first truly global standardized test for General Service staff selection was launched at UNHQ on 15 July 2014. The Global General Service Test (GGST) replaces the Administrative Support Assessment Test (ASAT) and will be progressively rolled out in all Offices Away from Headquarters (OAHs) from September 2014.
Why was the new test developed?
General Service staff members support the functioning of the Organization in all job families by delivering procedural, operational or technical work. The higher-level skills and deeper knowledge of the Organization and particular functions is developed through experience working with the procedures, regulations, and projects in the departments and offices. Examinations are used at the entry levels to evaluate candidates’ suitability for the positions, and to assess skills in particular occupational groups.
