The HR Handbook is a comprehensive online tool which is regularly updated and comprises legislative and reference documents, including the UN Charter, the staff regulations and rules, Secretary-General’s Bulletins, Administrative Instructions and Information Circulars.
You can access the tool on UN networked computers through iSeek (Topics > HR Policies and Services). The tool is also accessible worldwide at: www.un.org/hr_handbook or just by searching for “UN HR Handbook” from your internet browser.
This online resource contains some 2,000 documents in English and French and includes an extensive Subject Index. Simply browse through the database by clicking on the relevant tab to find information on your chosen topic.
Source documents are available and can be located by year with the relevant reference number. The HR Handbook also contains an archive of historical documents.
