   Update your emergency contact information

Information on emergency contacts is self-managed using the global “Emergency Contact Information” Module accessible on inspira. Staff members are required to create and maintain updated records of their emergency contact(s) noting: names, email addresses, telephone numbers, and addresses.

Important note: Emergency contacts must be carefully selected based on his/her accessibility, ability to act on your behalf, and receive and relay bad news.This information will be used for notification purposes only in cases of an emergency.

Registration is quick and simple by following these steps:

1. Log into inspira using your index number and password;

2. Click on the fist icon of the selection bar “My Profile”;

3. Click "Family Details" and update the Emergency contact field.

    Register on the UN Emergency Alert Information System

Be sure to find out about the UN Emergency Alert Information System established for your duty station. This system allows you to register with UN Department of Safety and Security (DSS) to receive UN alerts on emergency situations that occur in your location.

    Know the emergency preparedness actions and contact numbers for your duty station.

Follow the guidelines and special protocols in event of emergency for your duty station and/or current location if you are on travel duty.  Information will be available on the local office website. When you are in the UNHQ complex for official business or serving at UNHQ, be familiar with the emergency guidance for the complex.
