PRINCE2: Project management training is coming soon to a location near you!

Do you want to learn a methodology to help you and your team deliver projects efficiently and effectively?

Would you benefit from accredited certification to demonstrate that your project management skills are current and aligned with global best practice?

If the answer to these questions is yes, training in Projects in Controlled Environments Version Two, known as PRINCE2, could be for you!

PRINCE2 is a versatile project management methodology which is used extensively in both the public and private sectors, as well by many UN agencies, funds and programmes worldwide. The approach encompasses the control and organization of a project and is divided into manageable stages, from Starting a project to Closing a project. PRINCE2 covers how to coordinate the people and activities involved in a project - and what to do if things don’t develop as planned and adjustments need to be made.

In May of this year, 40 participants in New York attained PRINCE2 Foundation certification and 30 participants in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan were awarded both PRINCE2 Foundation and the more advanced Practitioner certification.

The training is now being gradually deployed across a range of Duty Stations and field missions. For example, additional trainings are planned in New York in September, sessions will be held in Nairobi in November and there will also be more courses held in field missions before the end of the year.

Interested in working towards PRINCE2 certification? To take part in an instructor-led course, you first have to complete the mandatory pre-course study online. This can be accessed through UN Skillport or the My Learning menu in inspira.

For dates of the next course near you, please contact your local learning manager or learning focal point. If you have specific questions on PRINCE2, you can get in touch with the Programme Manager, Kushal Ramyad, at ramyad@un.org.
