The first phase of the Human Resources (HR) Portal was launched on 27 February. The Portal is a key resource on HR matters within the organization and has been designed by OHRM in partnership with the Office of Information and Communication Technology to consolidate over 65 different HR-related websites into one streamlined easy to navigate site.
Why is a new HR website needed?
Previously, users may have needed to search through multiple websites to find HR information. The HR Portal now provides comprehensive information on a wide range of Human Resources topics in one convenient location to offer users a more enhanced and holistic online experience. HR information is now accessible to UN staff members, Agencies, Funds and Programmes, Member States as well as the general public.
It allows all users – from Headquarters locations to the most remote field office in peace operations - to access information on human resources management in both English and French. The HR Portal is also supported by mobile and tablet devices. Given the comprehensiveness of the HR Portal individual HR websites will progressively close, and all traffic will be redirected the HR Portal.
New and Improved Features
Users can now identify topics of interest at a glance from a list of drop down menu options:
- Being a UN Staff Member
- Your Pay & Benefits
- Your Career
- Your Learning
- Performing for Results
- Health and Wellbeing
- Tools
The Portal also incorporates a useful search feature to enable users to search key documents, such as a new and improved HR Handbook and a redesigned Learning Catalogue. Important tools and resources, such as Umoja, Unite Connections, inspira and The UN Intranet - iSeek, are also easily accessible under the ‘Tools’ tab.
