Important Performance Management Reminders

2019-20 workplans are due

Staff and managers are reminded to finalize workplans for the 2019-20 performance cycle. All workplans should be complete in inspira by 31 May 2019.

Attention to the work-planning stage is crucial for getting the new cycle off to a good start. First reporting officers should ensure that at least one discussion is held with each staff member about work-planning. Both managers and staff should give careful thought to short- and long-term workplan goals and how they align to larger departmental priorities.

2018-19 evaluations are due

The 2018-19 performance management cycle ended on 31 March 2019. All staff members, first reporting officers and second reporting officers are reminded that end-of-cycle discussions and evaluations should be completed as soon as possible, and no later than 30 June 2019.

These discussions should be viewed as the culmination of the continuous communication between staff and managers relating to performance carried out throughout the performance cycle. Such discussions provide opportunities to highlight any work-related achievements and to look back to see what worked well and what needs improvement.
