Arabic Calligraphy

This course introduces learners to the history and development of Arabic calligraphy. They will learn the rules of the most popular style of Arabic Calligraphy (the Naskh Style (خط النسخ and practice writing in this style. This class will also help students to learn specific strategies for producing their own artistic works. By the end of this course students will be able to organize an exhibition of their artworks. Students who wish to study this course should have at least basic knowledge of the Arabic alphabet.

The aim of this course is to develop handwriting skills, understand the art of calligraphy, and to familiarize students with the different calligraphy styles used.
