Arabic Web Level 1

This course is for novice learners who have no prior experience with the language. It introduces the Arabic Alphabet using Alif Baa textbook, and covers units 1-10. This course focuses on writing, pronunciation and reading basics. It exposes the learner to the differences in register between formal and spoken Arabic. By the end of this course students should be able to read and write basic structures in Arabic. Moreover, students will be able to introduce themselves, and talk about their direct environment in simple, memorized expressions.

This is a regular level 1 Arabic class delivered through Webex. Students are expected to login at the time of the weekly 1.5 hour Webex session. Assignments will be posted on the Learning Management System and the link will be communicated before the course start date. Students are also expected to purchase access to third party Arabic exercises (instructions will also be communicated before course start date).
